Shedding Layers

Dancing through the scarlet wood,

That blushes in my passage,

For my nakedness of heart,

I’ve held all the sorrow that I could,

In my two calloused palms,

In the eye of frowning stars,

Here my love burns coldly,

Like the glowing maple trees,

The pen is stroking boldly,

The freedom of my movement,

In light of sorrows past,

Is a spiritual improvement,

Within a tide of breath,

The autumn wind sighs,

Of summer’s death.
