Dust In The Wind

It was easier to let go, then it was to hold on,

Like dust in the wind, my words have gone,

Sailing upon my breath, to the shores of your heart,

On the blades of your words, torn roughly apart,

At one time perhaps I would have felt pain,

For the knife in my back that still remains,

But there are a thousand hearts that would take me in,

And my supply of patience is wearing thin,

So watch me dive in among the sharks of chance,

Watch me roll the dice, on a true romance,

Cuz it was easy to let go with the stakes so high,

To bet on your metaphors and subtle sigh,

Why chase a star that does not want your wish,

When there are a million other juicy fish?

It was easier to let go, then it was to hold on,

Like dust in the wind, my words have gone…
