Swimming With Sharks

A FWF prompt from Kellie Elmore at:    http://kellieelmore.com/2012/06/08/fwf-free-write-friday-time-place/

The memory of waves whispering, flowing, the tides of my heart pulled by a moon of wanting.

Warm shafts of sunlight by day will bask on the fluid movement of me, but the darkness will hide swells of danger in the shifting moods of my gaze.

Always just a-float on the the heaving crests of life’s confusion, bobbing just above the tumultuous unknown beneath me.

Cutting through that tempest of accumulated moments upon a raft of broad metaphor, with a sail full of windy words… I’m just a writer that can improvise drowning for rebirth.

Perhaps you feel it too, the fluctuations and subtle currents in the waters we ply. Perhaps your vessel flounders in wonder, or it may be that you cleave to new horizons with a skillful hand. Perhaps you have tied a rope of promises to the stern of another and hope for the best, or it may be in fact that you know the secrets of the Albatross and the wind bears feathers instead of cloth.

Who am I to know where the waters take you?
