In The Garden

I lick my lips

Elliptical hips

Sway into the night

Leaving lamp light

Feet wet and bare

Like my stare

Tempestuous thought

My yearning sought

Fulfillment  in silence

Escape from the violence

Invasions of promise

Unspoken though amiss

Unbalanced and shaken

My heart was taken

For a wild ride

On the sunny side

Now only the night

Solitary flight

From the glow of smiles

That ply their wiles

And a memory’s taste

Departing in haste

From the bed of my tongue

“When we were young”
