High Noon

Sweet nothing, whispered

Rides a weightless breath

Into the sound of the sea

As an Albatross calls

Nobody answers

Sunlight shivers like winter

Glitters like diamonds

Yet is hot like wanting

On the waves

The world breathes

I gaze up into the blue

Cloudless and guileless it seems

But I know her secret

That beneath those azure irises

She is hiding the stars

Drink the sky like a tree

Bury my toes like a root

Arms heedlessly swaying

To the music of high noon

Dancing like an acacia
