Spring In My Step

Wind blows wearily, sky weeps in silence

Stars hide behind skirts of sunlight

Spring bursting forth in pretty violence

Into the pallor, with delight

Chuckling, babbling, gurgling streams

Like a babe discovering the grass

Plumeria scented wayward dreams

Where waves whisper, and crash

Beneath the banyan, in a tangle of roots

The echo of winter songs

Slowly fading as young green shoots

Grow tenderly and long

Another turning year, life begins anew

Beneath blue and cloudless skies

In the iris reflected, a flawless view

As a lonely sea bird cries
