Under the Weather

Black mouth, foul tongue

Slick with the spill of bats

Who roost, bickering

On the ridges of my pallet

Slithering serpentine synonyms

Prey upon fallen adjectives

Darting desperately

Lizard-like between my teeth

Stale air from the depths of my gullet

Waft wordless, withering

Barely stirring glow worm constellations

Microcosmic mirrors

Of a much greater universe
